A Tuscan Dream: The Wedding of Nicole & David
Some love stories are so vibrant they can warm up any room, and Nicole and David’s wedding was exactly that. Hailing all the way from Canada with Nicole bringing her proud Irish roots and David his classic Canadian charm this wonderful couple chose the breathtaking landscapes of Tuscany to tie the knot, bringing together family and friends from across the globe for an unforgettable celebration.
The magic began at Villa Baroncino, a charming estate immersed in nature, peacefully tucked away near the shores of Lake Trasimeno and just a short drive from the famous hilltop town of Cortona. Surrounded by olive groves and rolling hills, the villa provided the perfect, serene backdrop for the morning preparations. Laughter, a few tears of joy, and a palpable sense of excitement filled the air as Nicole, David, and their closest loved ones got ready for the big moment.
From the villa, the wedding party headed up the winding roads to Cortona, one of Tuscany's oldest and most captivating hill towns. Steeped in history, Cortona boasts ancient Etruscan origins and remains enclosed by stone walls that have stood for centuries.
The religious ceremony was held in the magnificent Duomo di Cortona (the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta).
A Glimpse into History: Built over the remains of an ancient Roman temple and an earlier 11th century parish church, the Duomo was largely remodeled during the Renaissance, featuring a beautiful 15th century portal and a classic, elegant interior. Standing within these historic walls, surrounded by centuries of art and faith, Nicole and David exchanged their vows in a truly solemn and moving atmosphere.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds took a stroll through the historic center of Cortona. The town's narrow, medieval alleys and timeless stone architecture offered unique, picturesque backdrops for some incredible photos.
On the way back to the villa, we made a quick, spontaneous stop near Lake Trasimeno. The sun glistened on the water as Nicole and David walked out onto a romantic pier a perfect, quiet moment for the two of them, captured beautifully in the frame.
From Prosecco to Sunset Glow
Back at Villa Baroncino, the party truly started. Guests were welcomed into the lush gardens with a rich, traditional Italian aperitivo, headlined by a spectacular Prosecco tower that set a festive tone for the evening.
Dinner was served in the villa’s beautifully restored barn (il fienile), combining rustic Tuscan charm with elegant decor. But the magic didn't stop there. During dinner, as the sky began to turn to shades of gold and amber, we slipped away for a mini photoshoot. Bathed in the warm, golden hour light of the Tuscan sunset, the newlyweds looked absolutely radiant.
As night fell, the celebration shifted into high gear with the cutting of the cake, the traditional bouquet toss, and the magical sparklers. The energy was electric, and the night concluded in the best way possible: with great music and vibrant, colorful lights courtesy of the legendary DJ Marco Cram, who kept everyone on the dance floor until the very end.
It was a warm summer day, but truth be told, it wasn't just the Tuscan sun heating things up. With the incredible enthusiasm, love, and joy brought by Nicole, David, and their guests, it would have felt like the middle of summer even in the dead of winter.
Wishing a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless happiness to this wonderful new couple!
Auguri!
