Capturing Love Across Borders: Jessica & Emma’s Wedding Story
When Jessica and Emma traveled all the way from Canada to Italy to celebrate their love, I knew my role as their photographer was to do much more than simply document the events. My goal was to freeze time to translate the deep connection between two brides, the excitement of an international destination wedding, and the raw, unscripted emotions of the day into a timeless visual narrative.
The day began in a quiet, intimate atmosphere filled with anticipation. As a photographer, these moments of preparation are where the story truly starts. I focused on capturing the subtle glances, the nervous yet joyful smiles, and the delicate details that made their morning unique. Working with two brides offered a wonderful symmetry of emotions: double the excitement, double the elegance, and a shared journey towards the aisle that I was privileged to follow step by step.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Villa Baroncino, the light played a crucial part in shaping the photographic mood. I sought out natural, soft lighting to highlight the genuine tenderness of their vows. Rather than relying on rigid, traditional poses, my approach was rooted in photojournalism allowing them to simply be themselves, laugh, shed a few happy tears, and soak in the moment while I framed the story from a discreet distance.
One of my favorite parts of the day was taking Jessica and Emma away for a private portrait session. Amidst the sweeping Italian landscape, the atmosphere shifted to something calm and deeply romantic. In those quiet minutes between the ceremony and the evening reception, I captured them sharing intimate laughs and quiet embraces, completely at ease with one another and with the camera. The resulting images reflect not just how the day looked, but how it felt authentic, vibrant, and overflowing with affection.
As the sun went down and the celebrations shifted to the evening party, my focus turned to dynamic angles, candid laughter, and the energy of their closest friends and family. Capturing the speeches, the toast, cutting cake, sparkles and dance party allowed me to complete a visual story that is as warm and unforgettable as Jessica and Emma themselves.
For me, photography is about listening to a couple's energy and translating it into frames they can cherish forever. Jessica and Emma’s Canadian meets Italian wedding was a celebration of pure love, and capturing it was an absolute honor through my lens.
