Wedding at Villa San Crispolto, Passignano, Perugia, Umbria, Italy
The wedding day of Danielle and Joseph, who traveled all the way from Scotland, was the epitome of a perfect Italian midsummer dream. Set against the rolling hills overlooking Lake Trasimeno, Villa San Crispolto provided an idyllic backdrop for their celebration.
The atmosphere was quintessentially Italian: a warm, golden sun, the rhythmic song of cicadas, and the soothing sounds of the countryside. This was exactly what the couple had envisioned for their most important day a serene escape filled with relaxation and beautiful weather.
The photographic journey began inside the villa with the customary preparations. I captured Joseph and his groomsmen during their final moments of getting ready, followed by a few relaxed portraits in the garden. I then moved to the villa’s suite a charming space formerly used as the chapel to document Danielle as she prepared for the ceremony. From there, I followed her every step until the emotional moment of her entrance.
The ceremony took place in the lush, green garden, surrounded by the vibrant, thriving vegetation of the estate. Immediately following the "I do’s," the guests gathered in the pool area to kick off the aperitifs. Before moving to the dinner tables, we celebrated with a traditional prosecco tower, offering a joyful toast to the newlyweds.
As dinner commenced, the air was filled with laughter and the warmth of heartfelt speeches. We carefully timed our private couple’s portrait session to catch the "golden hour" that magical moment when the sun dips low on the horizon, bathing everything in a soft, ethereal light.
The evening unfolded with the traditional cutting of the cake and the bouquet toss, a lively moment that always brings out the competitive spirit among the guests. Before the couple took the dance floor for their first dance, we set the scene for an unforgettable "sparkles time" with guests holding bright lights to celebrate the night.
It was a fantastic day spent with such a beautiful and kind couple. Danielle and Joseph were incredibly gracious, following all my suggestions with enthusiasm and ease.
