🌺 Elopement Photo shooting in Anghiari - Wedding Photographer Tuscany

Elopement at Anghiari, Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy

Before telling this new story, two words about the great story of this small Tuscan village chosen by Christine and Kent for the wedding.

Anghiari is about 30 km from Arezzo, near the border between Tuscany and Umbria in the Tuscan Valtiberina valley.

Anghiari is also considered one of the "most beautiful villages in Italy" with an Orange Flag distinction by the Italian Touring Club, a "medieval treasure lying between the Arno and Tiber”, thanks to its strategical position, Anghiari played an important role in the Middle Ages.

The flat valley underneath the village was the set of the famous Battle of Anghiari in 1440 when Florentine troops won the battle against the army from Milano.

The legendary fresco depicting the "Battle of Anghiari" by Leonardo da Vinci in Florence's Palazzo Vecchio, Salone dei Cinquecento, unfortunately, lost shortly after it was painted, was commissioned to celebrate this victory.

The photo session started with the couple's preparations in a villa surrounded by nature, far from the most crowded cities, about 30 minutes drive from Anghiari.

The religious ceremony was held in one of the most important churches of Anghiari, the church of San Bartolomeo, small but beautiful.
At the end of the ceremony a toast with prosecco in the small square of the village and then some photos inside the village.

Our next stop for the photos was a small field of wheat just after the walls that gave us a good starting point for a photo with the village as a background, in addition to the beautiful light and the warm colors of the almost ripe wheat.

Then back to the base on the splendid white vintage car rented for the occasion.

The evening keeps on in a very intimate and romantic way in the garden of the villa with an aperitif, dinner and live music. Before the end of the photo shoot, we could not miss the cutting of the cake and a fun throw of the bouquet.
